Growing!

This is my current youngest Sadie. She is a little ray of sunshine, if you don't believe me just spend a few minutes with her. She has grown up a lot in the last year and will turn 4 in March. I still can't believe how old she is! I think one of the best ways to describe Sadie is "rough love." If you haven't been squished, wrestled, or patted to death, you haven't been loved by Sadie. She is full of love, life, and enthusiasm. If I had to pick her favorite dessert or treat it would have to be anything chocolate. She has been known to have chocolate Chex, Hershey kisses, and chocolate milk for breakfast, a girl after my own heart. You can tell she's mine. Time marches on much too quickly. Her favorite buddy has got to be my dad. Those two are hilarious and feed off each other and silliness abounds everywhere. It's fun to watch the two talk "Elmer Fudd" style.

I love the language development and description process. Sadie came in my room the other morning and says, "Mom? Where are the blow nosers?" I had NO IDEA what she was talking about, I mean how many of you have a blow noser just lying about? Turns out she wanted the bulb sucker to help ease the congestion and runny nose. Gotta love her descriptions and experiments with words.

This is my sweet Brooklyn who just turned 5 years old in December. She has grown so much! I just looked up her 4 year old appointment info and she gained 8.25 pounds and grew 4.5 inches in a year! She is in the 97% for her height with kids her age and it shows. She towers over quite a few of her classmates. She's growing like a weed! She's not much of a little girl anymore and certainly not a toddler. She loves preschool and loves to help me cook. She doesn't miss a thing nor does she ever forget. She keeps me in line and out of trouble. If I had to choose a favorite dessert or treat for her it would be chocolate chip cookie dough, she loves dough! Her favorite place to be in the whole world is Grandma's house. She ADORES my mom, although adore is not a big enough word to describe the love Brooklyn shares with my mom. They are two peas in a pod.

Brooklyn is excellent at describing things and giving directions. She has a remarkable memory. This was my first year getting an ornament from my kids from school. It was a precious gift, truly. It was Brooklyn's hand print with her picture in the middle, talk about heart melter!! I asked her how she made it and she described it so well I could probably make it here at home. She doesn't miss a detail, I love that about her, she's so precise and wants everything to be exact.

I'm always amazed at how fast little ones grow! Above are the most recent ultrasound pictures of our upcoming arrival. At this point she was 1 pound 4 ounces and doing great! I'm on the final count down just starting the third trimester also known to me as the downhill climb. I'm also grateful that I'm FINALLY feeling better! 2/3 of a pregnancy later and all seems to be well minus the normal discomforts that come from feeling like a beached whale. I guess that means I need to spend more time in the water to help alleviate the beached part anyway, not to mention start training for Alcatraz again...yes I'm still planning on it. :)
